Beth's Mission Jan 1 2018 Round Rock 15

This week was a pretty great week!
It feels like it went by really fast! But then again it always does! And now it's 2018! Happy New Year!!

A couple of highlights from this week:
We were able to have interviews with President Polley on Thursday and it was so great! I am so grateful for his counsel and invitations! It is always so good to be able to talk with him as well as with Sister Polley about the work and about how we can improve and better apply the things we learn as missionaries into who we are.

We had two exchanges this week! One on Friday due to a Mission Leadership Council that Sister Watt attended. I was with Sister Siddoway who just got in the mission 3 weeks ago! She is from Bountiful, Utah and is so cute! It was fun being with her!
Then on Saturday we had another exchange and I was able to be with Hermana Ferrell! She is so sweet!
It is always great to be with other Sisters and to learn and grow together! We were able to talk to some awesome people and it was great!
We weren't able to have very many lessons this week due to cancellations and other things, but that doesn't stop us! Even the cold 30 degree freezing weather won't stop us! It has been so cold! It even snowed again last night!!! And still The work must go on! And what a blessing it is to know that Heavenly Father has a plan for all things and everything is going and will work as it needs to!
As the new year has come upon us, this week has been one of new resolutions. A time to look inward and see what we can do better to look outward and truly become different- resolving to be better than we were.
Yesterday in Sacrament Meeting, the talks were all focused on how we can truly improve and make goals that we can achieve to help us become who our Heavenly Father needs us to be. Not just changing the physical things that we do or are, but changing the way we think and act to better align our thoughts with our Father and to truly become His sons and His daughters.
As this new year of 2018 begins, what can you do to become more like our Savior Jesus Christ? What can you do to truly follow His example in word and in deed?
This morning I was able to finish the Book of Mormon again and it was such a powerful experience for me!! I felt the peace and strength of the spirit testifying to me and confirming that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that it truly is the word of God. This read and study was focused on the Doctrine of Christ that President Polley invited us to do my first Zone Conference. As I have been studying, it has been incredible to see truly how everything is centered on our Savior Jesus Christ! He truly is the Light, the life, and the way!
If you haven't read the Book of Mormon or if your could be a little better at truly studying, I would invite you to start now! There is no better time than the present to recommit and to seek Jesus Christ.
Moroni 10:32

"Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God."

I know that Jesus is the Christ! I know He loves you and He cares about you. I know that the Book of Mormon truly is another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know that, as Joseph Smith said, it is "the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book."

I love you all so much!! I am so grateful for your love and support and prayers! Thank you for all that you do and Thank you for being a part of my life!!
I hope that you all have a wonderful week and a very Happy New Year!!!

Love,

Sister Broadbent

It was so good to see everyone yesterday! Thank you for everything! It is funny how it is so anticipated and then I just didn't know what to say and then it's over! I am so grateful for the technology we have though! It felt like we were all right there and it was just so good! I love and am so grateful for our family! I love you so much Mom!!

I hope that the rest of the week was good and that everyone had a Merry Christmas!!
I love you so much!!!

Our P-day got changed to Tuesday just for Christmas So Merry Christmas yesterday! It will be back on Monday next week :)
This week was a great week!

First, this whole month and Christmas/Holiday Season has been so great! I have loved seeing the joy that comes into the hearts of everyone and the love that is all around! I have realized more and more that that Love is from our Savior Jesus Christ- He truly is the reason for the season! And that love doesn't have to stop just because Christmas is over! We can feel and share that love all year round! I find that as we come closer to and truly seek Christ, we have that love with us, and then we just have to be willing to step outside of ourselves and spread that joyous love! Such a gift!

That is what I have realized this week. Through every appointment, every interaction, every service opportunity, I have realized that we are here to share the love that our Savior has for each and every one of us. That's why I'm out here serving a mission- because I know that Christ loves me and is there for me and I know that He loves each and every one of our heavenly brothers and sisters and He wants them to know that so that we can all return to live with our Father in Heaven!
On Friday we had a lesson with Maria and it was so incredible to share that love with her and to hear her express how she has felt His love in her life.
Then on Saturday morning we had Breakfast with the 2nd counselor in our Stake Presidency and we got to chat with his daughter who just got back from her mission in Argentina. It was so great to be able to talk all together as missionaries, servants, and children of God and share how we have felt His love and how we have been able to share that with others.
Christmas Eve was such a great day as well! Sister Power, Dominic, and Meghan all came to church and it was so great! That night we had a retelling of the nativity performed by kids under the age of 15 at the Bjarnason's house and Sister Power, Dominic, and Meghan came to that as well! It was so fun and so cute and just a great Sunday celebrating the birth of our Savior!
Christmas was Amazing! It was unlike any Christmas I have ever had before and it was so great! We celebrated Christmas by doing service in the morning for our recent convert, then we had a huge brunch, then talked to our families- which was SO great!! So good to see them and talk with them! I love them so much! Then we had a chocolate fondo dinner and then went to our Ward Mission Leader's house for more dessert! It was a such a great day!
We were blessed with many gifts and food, but it made me realize that this season isn't about that at all. It's all about our Savior Jesus Christ and the love that He gives to all! What a joy it is to see that this Christmas season! And now we get to go share how we can keep that with us all year round! Such a gift and a blessing!!

I shared this scripture with my family yesterday and I want to share it with all of you!
Alma 38:9
"And now, my son, I have told you this that ye may learn wisdom, that ye may learn of me that there is no other way or means whereby man can be saved, only in and through Christ. Behold, he is the life and the light of the world. Behold, he is the word of truth and righteousness."
I know that He truly is the light of the World! I know that He loves you and He knows you!
I invite you to pray to feel that love. Pray to know how you can help others to feel of the Love that Christ has for them. We are all here to help each other along! We can all continue to Light the World!
I love you all so much!! I hope that you all had a Merry Christmas! Thank you for all of your love and support! I love you!
Have a wonderful last week of 2017!!! Love you!

Love,

Sister Broadbent

Beth's Mission Dec 18 Round Rock 13

Merry Christmas!! Goodness I can't believe Christmas is already here and we are planning for a video chat!! So crazy!!
We have a brunch at 11 and a dinner at 5. Sister Watt is planning on 1:30 or 2:00 our time for her family. We could either do 12:30 or 1:00 our time so 11:30 or noon your time? Let me know what will work best. Sorry for the crazy scheduling!!

Light the World is awesome!! Got to be honest, it's really weird posting on Facebook everyday for it and seeing family and friends from home comment and like and such, but its cool to connect in that way!! We truly have so many resources to share the gospel!! Such a blessing!!

Love the snow!!! It has been cold this week! Raining quite a bit, completely poured all day on Thursday, and today it's been "misting" and foggy all day! Sort of feeling like Christmas in that way I guess :)

This week was a great week!! We had a busy week and were able to go on a few visits with members of our ward that were all great!!

The first part of the week we had Sister Sonntag with us until her companion came on Thursday. It was fun to have her with us and to be able to have another Sister to go out with and teach with! We had lots of fun!

On Thursday we had a lesson and dinner with David and it was awesome! It was so good to meet him!! He read the chapter assigned to him last week and he studied it and had so many questions! He even found the Doctrine and Covenants and quoted from it! It was so awesome! We were able to clarify some things and help him to better understand and it was a great lesson! We have another lesson with him on Thursday and we are way excited! We are praying that he will feel the spirit of what he is reading and studying!
That night we were also able to go out as a ward mission and visits quite a few less actives in the ward! It was so great to be unified and all together as we visited and invited people to church! We have these newletters we created with a conference talk and upcoming events in the ward and it is perfect to give to those who need a little help!

Saturday was our Ward Christmas party and it was awesome!! We had so many less actives come and two investigators! It was a fun night!

And Yesterday- Sunday- was the best day of the week! I love Sundays so much!!
First we had such great personal Study and Companionship study talking about Heavenly Father's great plan and the eternal family we are all a part of! Then in Sacrament, all the speakers talked about that focusing on our Savior Jesus Christ- so good! And we had two investigators and so many less actives come to church! It was amazing and the ward was so welcoming and loving and it was so great to see and feel the great spirit that was there!! The two investigators, Meghan and Dominic both had a great time and said they wanted to come back! Dominic is Sister Power's husband and Meghan is her daughter. They are amazing and we are so grateful for their excitement and willingness to work together as a family to come closer to Christ!
And yesterday night the youth had a huge caroling activity and it was awesome! Meghan came and loved it and it was so great!
Overall it was such a great day and such a great week!
I have been reminded again and again how important it is to remember our dear Savior and brother Jesus Christ this beautiful season!
3 Nephi 18:24 "Therefore, hold up your light that it may shine unto the world. Behold I am the light which ye shall hold up—that which ye have seen me do."
He truly is the light and life of the world!! I know that He is our brother. He is our Savior and Redeemer. I know that He knows me and He knows you. He loves you. It is such a joy to spread His love and to help others to feel of His divine love and peace that He gives! We are so blessed!!

I am so grateful for all of you!! Thank you for your support and love and prayers!! I love you all so much!! I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!! Remember the reason for the season! And have a great week!!! Love you!!
Merry Christmas!!!!!

Love,

Sister Broadbent
